Sher Gazi

Fairtrade has brought tremendous benefits to the communities not only for Fairtrade farmers but to others by increasing the prices for walnuts, almonds and other fruits to properly profitable levels for farmers. 

Sher Gazi has worked on the dried fruits project since the late 1980s and is the principal shareholder in the fair trade company Mountain Fruits. 

 “Local markets are important but the best price for our produce lies in countries far from here. Getting a fair trade deal for apricot farmers in these remote valleys is a lifeline.”
